Get the Most Out of Your Coupons

So you’re planning on picking up the Sunday newspaper this weekend right? I thought so! You’re also going to cut out all the coupons you can find and save them for later. We covered that much in my last post. I’ve already explained what coupons do and how they’re used, so I am assuming you know that. If not, read this post.

Coupons are great in and of themselves because they save you money. But what if you could use those coupons when the products you’re buying are already at their rock-bottom low prices? That’s really the ultimate in savings! There are a few great things you can start doing to help you find those low low prices.

The first is to start keeping a grocery price book. The purpose of a price book is essentially to help you keep track of the lowest price per unit prices on all of the products you can buy. I’m going to leave my explanation at that and point you to some great articles that explain a price book in more detail. Check those out here, here, and here. There’s no sense in me doing the work all over again when others have done it so well.

The second thing you can do is to become a free member at CouponMom.com and start using it’s resources. My favorite part of the site is the “Grocery Deals by State” section. You simply click on that section and it will bring up a list of possible stores you can choose from. You then choose the store and it will bring up a list of all the best deals that store has going on. It even tells you a coupon that can be used in accordance with the low price. The coupon will be listed with a date and the ad section it came in. All of the work is done for you! It’s pretty simple, but if it is confusing, just check out the site.

So there you have it. Two sure-fire ways to get the most out of your coupons. Stay tuned for tomorrow where I’ll give you some other websites that will help you save even more money on the groceries you buy!
