If you take a look at the popular posts widget on the sidebar you’ll see a link titled “Make Money While You Sleep” that you can click on to read all about the program. Before you do, read a bit further.

I wanted to make a quick update about this program. It happens to be one of my favorite ways to make money. Why? Well, mostly because I have to do absolutely nothing to make money with it! All I do is leave my computer on and I make money from it. The exciting news is that the Gomez Peer program is now paying out even more money than they used to!

In addition to the normal money that they paid you before, they have now added a feature where if you leave your computer on and connected to the internet for at least 20 hours in a day, you will be paid an extra 10 cents per day per computer!

Yeah, I know it’s not a ton of money, but I’m now seeing about $5 to $8 per month coming in to my pocket from this program. This is money that I wouldn’t have had otherwise so it’s worth it! You’ll have to decide whether it is worth it for you, but if you leave your computer on all the time anyways, why not get paid for it? I hope you like it! I think the banner has been updated since your post. It now reads “Sign up now, Start saving”.

Anyway, will probably give it a go and see how it turns out. Then again, as you mention, it’s 10 cents extra if you leave your computer on for 20hrs per day. Wouldn’t the cost of electricity make up for the gain?

What’s the catch? While leaving your computer on doesn’t it make your computer do some stuff? Perhaps install some adware/spyware?

I’ve yet to find a catch and I’ve made about $65 so far with it! Some people make the argument that if you leave your computer on all night, you’ll lose money after paying electricity. That might be true, but most students leave their computer on all the time anyways, so why not re-coup some or all of those costs?

Also, I think it’s fair to say that there isn’t a guarantee that you’ll be accepted as a partner with them. However, I think if you run the program non-stop for a week or so when you first install it you’re more likely to be accepted and can then start earning money!

This program is a total flop. I followed all of the instructions and read all of the fine print. There’s a sort of “waiting period” for your application to be approved after you download the program. I waited two weeks and was still in the pending mode. Then the program would keep restarting itself and I was told I had to reinstall the program. In a little over a week I only made like 50 cents. And the only time my computer was off and the program was not running was after a thunderstorm when we lost power for a half hour. In essence.. don’t quit your day job for this one!

Thanks for the comment Kat. I’ll certainly agree with you that you will NOT make a lot of money with this program. Please do NOT consider this as a good source of income. Like I said in the post, you’re only going to be making between $5 and $8 per month, which really isn’t much. I am currently at $7.66 for the month of June. I’m a guy that leaves his computer on nearly all the time for various reasons. All this program does is sit and make me a little bit of money. I figure it is $5-8 more than I had before, so why not do it? Anybody else have thoughts on the program?

I would say that it is very similar. The site says that they use your computer to test websites for big companies. So it’s not really toward a “greater good” per-se except that you make money from it. Give it a try! And if you do, you gotta run the program non-stop for the first 2 weeks to make sure that you get approved and activated!
