I can’t believe it’s time to start thinking about textbooks again already, but while I am thinking of it, here’s a nugget. I’m a member of this thing called the eCampus Entourage. eCampus.com sells, rents, and even buys back textbooks online. Their slogan is “easy, fast, cheap” – true that! As a member, I get 5% off my books, plus $5 in my pocket every time other people use my code to rent theirs.

It’s worked well for me, so anyone who’s interested in checking it out, go to www.ecampusentourage.com. When you join, be sure to use my code EE15395 as the referral source. Once in, you get your own code to share with people so you can start building your own entourage.

In a recent post I pointed you to some good price book resources as well as a great website that will supplement your coupon use very well.

How else can you save money on groceries? Well, there are a couple more websites I want to point you to. The first is My Grocery Deals and it essentially scours your local ads and finds those items which are on sale at the time. It will save you a lot of legwork in looking for those good deals.

The second site is The Grocery Game. It is very similar to The Coupon Mom and My Grocery Deals, but seems to have more functionality than the other two. You can read the FAQ section here. The only problem is, is that it isn’t free. For what it’s worth, I think your membership will easily pay for itself, but it’s still up to you. You can do a 4 week trial for just a $1, so go ahead and give it a try and see if you like it!

Well, I hope this little series helps you save some more money on the food you buy! If you have any suggested resources or other sites, please leave a comment!

So you’re planning on picking up the Sunday newspaper this weekend right? I thought so! You’re also going to cut out all the coupons you can find and save them for later. We covered that much in my last post. I’ve already explained what coupons do and how they’re used, so I am assuming you know that. If not, read this post.

Coupons are great in and of themselves because they save you money. But what if you could use those coupons when the products you’re buying are already at their rock-bottom low prices? That’s really the ultimate in savings! There are a few great things you can start doing to help you find those low low prices.

The first is to start keeping a grocery price book. The purpose of a price book is essentially to help you keep track of the lowest price per unit prices on all of the products you can buy. I’m going to leave my explanation at that and point you to some great articles that explain a price book in more detail. Check those out <a target="blank"href="http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog/2007/05/02/use-a-grocery-price-book-to-slash-your-food-spending/">here, <a target="blank"href="http://organizedhome.com/make-price-book-save-money">here, and <a target="blank"href="http://www.stretcher.com/stories/03/03mar10b.cfm">here. There’s no sense in me doing the work all over again when others have done it so well.

The second thing you can do is to become a free member at <a target="blank"href="http://www.couponmom.com/">CouponMom.com and start using it’s resources. My favorite part of the site is the “Grocery Deals by State” section. You simply click on that section and it will bring up a list of possible stores you can choose from. You then choose the store and it will bring up a list of all the best deals that store has going on. It even tells you a coupon that can be used in accordance with the low price. The coupon will be listed with a date and the ad section it came in. All of the work is done for you! It’s pretty simple, but if it is confusing, just check out the site.

So there you have it. Two sure-fire ways to get the most out of your coupons. Stay tuned for tomorrow where I’ll give you some other websites that will help you save even more money on the groceries you buy!
